Soccer banquet and Halloween

We had Jessies Soccer Banquet. I wish I would have gotten a picture of her quilt that grandma made her. We took all her previous years jerseys and soccer shirts and made a quilt for her to display at the banquet. Grandma did a great job. She also received a Letter award which is a pin they can where on their school jackets. Jessie didnt get one since this was her last year and they were like $350.  She is pretty conservative when it comes to spending money. Wish all my kids were that way. It will be nice when it comes to budgeting in her marriage.

We celebrated Mckennas birthday. Her birthday is Oct 23rd so we had her come for dinner on the weekend and open presents. We will celebrate Austins birthday on the actual day the 9th. We are going to take the family for dinner to tepanyaki so looking forward to that. Will add more picts of his birthday later.

Then it was Halloween. it turned out to be a beautiful night despite the frigid temps.  I wasn't really planning on doing anything for dinner this year since all the kids are getting older, but the first thing out of logan's mouth that morning was Mom your going to make your halloween tradition dinner right? It's tradition and its the one thing I look forward to on halloween. Then Allie was like I have a Halloween party tonight, but if your going to make your dinner I'm coming home because Im not going to miss that. So I was like um sure I guess. Cant disappoint their only thing they look forward to all year for halloween. So it was a mad dash between appointments to get to the store and come up with something to make. I am seriously running out of ideas to do something I havn't done before. But alas I pulled it off and I think they all enjoyed it.

We had cornbread in the skeleton head pan, A hamburger mixture with corn, peppers, onion, and rice served in the pumpkin. A juice/sprite mix with dry ice and chocolate oreo cheesecake for dessert. Forgot the tombstones and worms to go on top of the dirt.

I was trying so hard to capture the amazing orange colors of the sunset. My phone camera just didnt do it justice. It was so beautiful. I love our Utah sunsets.

And now its November already. Time is flying so fast. This month will be over before I know it. Im really looking forward to the Holidays though and spending time with the family.

Last soccer games.

Here is some pictures from Jessie's last soccer game with the High school. This was their State championship game. It was a tough loss but we held our own really well. We played the top team in our region and usually they dominate with scores of 10-1 or 7-3 but todays game we ended with a score of 3-0 so we played really well.

It was pretty cold so we were all huddled up in blankets and winter gear.  Poor girls were freezing. Luckily I made sure jessie brought a blanket which many did.

We have a pretty amazing team and coaches. Despite having a crappy season these girls had a pretty good year and made some good memories. I am so glad Jessie got to be a part of it and had this last senior year to remember her soccer family. It was tough because alot of these girls have been playing together for years and where jessie was new to the team this year as a player not many of the girls would talk to her much other then what they had to through the game. It was kind of sad, but I am so so proud of Jessie for pushing through it and going despite the lonliness she got from the team, but because she loves the game. She is a fighter. Always has been and I'm so proud of her for not giving up. What a great example she was to us and her team to never stop trying and to keep pushing for what you want.

Also some pictures of Logan's last game at least for me. She played last night and she has one last game thursday but Jessie has her soccer banquet that night that I have tickets for so I will not be able to take her and Steve is out of town again. Thankful for Grandpa to be able to take her. What a blessing it is to be near family so they can help us out when we need it.
It was cold so I stayed and watched from the car so I did not get very good pictures of her. We were doing well at a tied score up until the last 10 mins of the game then they came back and got us with 3 more points.

Always pulling her shorts up. She hates having to wear long shorts. LOL

Logan has played with this team now for 3 years. She has improved so much. In the beginning we had to beg her to play and she only would because jessie was also on this team. At times I think she really started to enjoy playing even though she would get so mad in the beginning and tell us she wasnt playing next year and especially without jessie on the team but she eventually would decide to do it and this year was nice because she had her friend kenzee on the team. She is a tough little player and she is really fast when she wants to be. She has no problem getting in front of the biggest toughest player and trying to take the ball away. She has a more aggressive side to her when she plays and I love it.  She has talked about maybe wanting to try out for the high school team. I really hope she does and tries. I think with a little more practice she could be awesome and definitely make it. We are trying to talk her into getting on the Lightening team which the high school coach coaches so that would get her some great experience and more learning from a good team so we will see what happens. Her problem is she doesn't realize or believe how good she is and doubts herself, and therefor gives up. I really hope she sticks with it.  I quite enjoy being a soccer mom and dont want it to end. LOL

The scenery was most beautiful tonight. We had dark purplish clouds in front and the prettiest sunset in purple and oranges behind us. I was trying to get the view from the car and in the mirrors but the pictures just didn't do it justice. It was so pretty.
