2021 January through May

January We decided to go hiking. Don't ask me why. I think it was because Allie was taking a hiking class through weber and she had to get in so many hikes so here we were going to support her.

this is the new guy she is with. Not a very good shot.  Maya sure loves to go with us.

The time is flying we are already in to February and it is Jessies 19th birthday. last year being a teenager.

Steve being the kid magnant like he always has been.We were babysitting the hansens kids and they love watching how to train a dragon.

I had to get a series of iron infusions because i was low. They take 2-3 hours to get one. Not a ton of fun.

 

Steve's grandma wilson passed away. we went to the funeral up in levan. Steve and Rich were the pall bearers.

Maya just being maya trying to get attention and she knows she cant get on the couch so she tries to get as close as she can to being on the couch.

 

Logan has a strange obsession with cleaning peoples ears and pulling wax out with her little tools.

So we did a thing.. We bought a acre water front lot in preston idaho! Not sure why, but rich bought one as well and is planning on building and moving up there to live. However we cannot move right now with Steves job and we are not really sure that is where we want to retire to either, but we decided to buy it and sit on it for a while and maybe we will re sale it down the road. Who knows. It's a pretty area but its in the middle of nowhere and there is not a whole lot in preston. Any major shopping will have to be done in Logan.

 

Another one of Allies hikes for class. We walked around Mantua Dam. And look she is still with Camen. I think things are getting pretty serious, She is hoping he asks her to marry him.

So prom is here. Logan really wanted to go to her Junior prom with her boyfriend Reed.  I thought this was a super cute way to ask her because she loves succulents.

 

Somebody was a very bad boy and tore a toy apart and almost ate a battery.

Logan got nominated by her teacher for student of the month and she said really student of the year. She loves logan.

Cristina Noorda stopped by to see kim and Rich so we were all able to snap a pict with her.

For Logan's Spring Break this year we took her and her boyfriend Reed to St. George to do some hiking and shopping. We had a fun time and got to go to cedar city and do a couple hikes there in the slot canyons. So beautiful. One of them we had to hike through this river up to a waterfall and being only march it was still very very cold water and in some places there was still snow. We about froze our feet off. It was painful and we had to stop and rub logans feet for a while because they were so frozen.

Isn't this so beautiful. We had to climb the latter and it was wet and a bit slippery.It kinda freaked Logan out. She was not happy, but she did it. With a few tears.

We finally used our Christmas gift and went to the escape room. They are always fun.

So Logan wanted to of course go to the last dance of the year with Reed again. It was his last dance. He's always so cute in the way he answers or asks. These little stuffed animals turn inside out to a different color and face.

So we planned a trip to Hawaii with the whole family in May. Unfortunately Austin and Kenna was not able to come due to work which was a big bummer.  And Allie kept hinting that she wanted Camen to come. She was hoping maybe he would propose to her there. Secretly he kept putting her off so it could be a surprise. So basically he did end up coming with us and had arranged to propose to her there and we were all in on it.

It was cute, so a couple weeks prior we thought we were going out to dinner with Kim and Rich, but secretly Camen had arranged it all and it ended up being dinner with him to ask our permission to marry Allie. It was very cute how he arranged it with Kim. He is very thoughtful and a romantic.

We came to this beach with Matt and Chandra and their family in hopes of seeing the pod of dolphins that usually frequents here early in the mornings. Unfortunately they didnt come this time. I was really hoping they would because the kids havn't had the chance to experience

 Their sexy photo they sneaked off to do. Not sure how i felt about that since they wernt even engaged yet. 

Got to go onto the air force base to show camen and the kids where Matt worked.

 Also went and saw the Arizona at Pearl Harbor. Camen was really excited to see that.

Matt and Chan and their family took us on a hike that was near by. It was really cool. Very forresty and there were so many birds chirping and singing. So peaceful.

So we had an unfortunate event happen to us while we were at Hawaii. We went to this beach to do some snorkeling, and we left a couple of our phones in the car and then mine was in our scuba bag along with some towels, some of our clothes, sunglasses, wallets, food, and car keys. We were out in the water maybe 15-20 mins when Steve and Logan came back in and found our bag had been stolen. They found the key to the car opened the car and stole everything we had in the van.  We had to call the police and file a report. There was a nice family who let us borrow their phone to call police and call banks to start canceling our cards and put a freeze on our credit. And no joking in the half hour it took to do that they were literally down the street at home depot making purchases. The cops wouldnt do anything to go and see if we could catch them. Guess this happens way to much out there and they dont want to be bothered by the dumb howlies that are stupid enough to leave their personal belongings un attended on the beach.

Luckily they left the keys in the car so we drove down to the home depot where they had been and asked if we could watch the security camera or try and find the receipt to the purchases they were making but they were not any help either.  What a crap day. Luckily Allie was the only one who left her phone in the hotel so we were able to use her phone to make a bazillion calls to family and banks and credit companies, the airlines to see what we had to do to be able to fly home with no ID. It was such a huge mess. Luckily we had our laptops and ipads back at the hotel too so we were also able to use them as well. We could literally see are phones moving as we traced them on find my phone and could do nothing about it.

So then came the big night!

Here is how it went down. So Camen had a friend that was in hawaii at the same time so before we even left for hawaii he had told Allie that his friend was going to be there at the same time and was planning on proposing to his girlfriend and he would need their help setting it all up. Little did she know she was decorating and setting up the scene to her own proposal.

So Logan, Steve, and I said we were going shopping and would be back later which in truth we went to hang around the beach out of sight waiting for the moment so we could get it recorded.  Camen asked Jessie if she would like to come down and help them decorate the beach for his friends proposal with her already knowing the plan and was coming along to hold the ring box for him. So they left to go help set up.

Meanwhile they are on the beach almost at sunset decorating the beach in candles for his friends proposal. His friend was really playing it up. He was all dressed up in a suit and was acting like he was so nervous, and saying he was supposed to be meeting his girlfriend who was coming with her mom. So we were off down the beach watching the whole thing and the plan was when we saw it all decorated we were supposed to start heading over there and he was going to say hey since the beach is all decorated up and the sun is setting lets take some pictures. So while they were taking pictures we were supposed to show up.

Well we walked over when we thought they were all done decorating but i guess camen wasnt ready yet and so we were like trying to turn our backs to then hoping Allie didnt see us standing there. We were trying to kinda hide behind a tree and I swear she saw us but she claims she didnt.  When they finally was taking the picture we walked up and I think she saw us but at that moment thats when he dropped to his knee and jessie tossed him the ring box and he proposed. She had no idea it was her own proposal and she was pretty surprised. Pictures sucked because we did not have our phones for the pictures since they were stolen so we had to use our ipads.  At least we had a Happy moment from this trip.

What was really cool there was a guy who had a drone flying around and when he saw the beach lit up he flew his drone over the top of where we were all standing and got a picture and came and sent it to us. How awesome was that.

So how does the saying go when it rains it pours. So it wasn't bad enough that we had alot of our stuff stolen on this trip, but then the next morning about 4AM Steve woke up in horrible pain and was literally screaming and moaning (LOUD) and started throwing up. So we called Matt and woke him up and eplained what was happening and he said it sounded like a kidney stone and to take him to the hospital. So off we went carrying him down the hotel as he's screaming waking everyone up. Got him loaded up. I drove while the kids rode with us in the car. steve quickly asked camen to give him a blessing as we were driving which was a bit crazy, but camen didnt hesitate one second he jumped right in and did it. Steve was telling me to run the red lights and run people over to hurry and get there. It was a little comical.

We got back to the ER and of course they are taking their own sweet time getting things going and meanwhile Steve is yelling and crying to please give hime some pain medication and of course per protocol they are starting off with tylenol not knowing that he is not just a drug seeker. Then slowly start working up to the stronger stuff after a couple hours of him begging and pleading for them to help him. As funny as it was it was also sad to see him in so much pain.  We were all supposed to go to the polynesian cultural center this day and it wasnt looking like steve and I were going to be able to go so we told the kids to just go without us and have a good time. We would keep them updated. They had Allies phone and they brought us the laptop and ipad so we could communicate with them.

So they did some testing and found out he did indeed have a stone. It wasnt super big only 2-3 cm but it was stuck in the urethra where it could not pass so he had to be taken in to surgery to have it removed.

The culprit! So we ended up staying the night at the hospital. Well the kids came and picked me up when they got back from the PCC late and I slept at the hotel and Logan stayed with Steve at the hospital.  Then the next afternoon we were able to pick him up and bring him back to the hotel. Unfortunately with having a stent in it was pretty uncomfortable so he was not able to go do anything else while we were there. So we spent the last 3 days of our trip either in the hospital or hanging out at the hotel room.  So this trip to Hawaii kinda sucked. At least one good thing came of this trip and Allie was on cloud 9.Allie and Camen having fun over at the PCC. So bummed we didnt get to go with them.

Not my idea of a wonderful Hawaiian trip, but hopefully there will be a next time. We will end this post here and I will pick back up again with the rest of our crazy summer.
