Allie's Birthday and Austin's Stitches

It's been an interesting couple of weeks. Last week I came down with Jessie's cold so I had a couple of rough days..  Sunday came and everyone was getting ready to leave for church and Lucky our dog was laying by me and Austin came into the room and slammed his hands down on the bed saying do you want a piece of me.. He was just playing around, but Lucky thought he was going to get me and started growling at him and Austin put his face down by him and he turned and bit at him..

It was so fast and I thought he had backed up fast enough but apparently not.. I heard him yell and cover his mouth and when he moved his hand I saw all this blood running down his mouth.. After getting a better look we knew it would require stitches, so instead of going to church he ended up in the E.R getting stitches..  Luckily it wasn't any deeper..

Then came Allie's sweet 16 Birthday.. I decided to go to her school and surprise her with flowers and kidnap her for the rest of the day and took her out to lunch at her favorite restaurant On The Border..  I curled her hair up all pretty for her and in Seminary all the boys get down on their knees and sing happy birthday to her and then the first 3 people to raise their hand get to say something nice about her and the first 3 people to raise their hand were all boy's and they told her how beautiful she was and how nice she is and a bunch of stuff like that.. mmm hmmm time to get the guns out and start cleaning them..

Then they all sang for her at mutual tonight and one of the young men in our ward asked her to go out on a date.. She is on cloud 9 right now..  I think she had a pretty good day.. Austin was in charge of taking pictures and these were the better ones. LOL

woo hoo the joys of being 16 and getting a drivers license!!  Heaven help us.. LOL

Dinner at my favorite restaurant Tepanyaki's.

Well my island got finished in my kitchen today.. More pictures to come now to get the rest of the kitchen done..  It's a long process, but it will be worth it..

Crazy Green Smoothie Day

So I just made this crazy Green Smoothie today for lunch.. I just got an idea to throw in some random things and give it a try.. I always use spinach in all my recipes so today I added some kale, spoon full of peanut butter, spoon full of honey, 1 banana, some choc protein powder, big heaping spoonful of cocoa powder, 2 tbsp of flax seed and vanilla almond milk.. It actually turned out edible.

It would have been better with frozen bananas to give it more a thicker icee texture but it still was pretty good.. Mine was more green color though!!

Well it looks like Steve, I or both will be getting a new calling in our church.. We have to meet with a bishopric member tonight or Sat. Haven't heard back yet..  I was kind of enjoying not having a calling.. But I do feel that having a calling will help us to become more acquainted with the people in our new ward..  It's hard moving and going to a new ward because it seems to take a year before I feel comfortable there and like I actually know people and can make friends..  Anyways so stay tuned and I will let you know our new callings..

Tonight is a big Stake Relief Society Activity and I was asked to decorate a display table for it on family....  I am so not a crafty, cutesy type of person so this should be interesting... I am just going to put our big family picture up with our family a proclamation to the world plaque up with another plaque that says A Forever Family.  Then have a little ceramic temple and jesus mixed in with it.. then I have a little handout to go with it taken from the beginning of the proclamation.
Hope it's good enough.. I am kind of nervous..  Plus I hate being racked into doing these kind of things because it forces me to go to the activity and I would have stayed home otherwise..   Not that I dont want to go, but I dont know anybody very well yet in our ward so it is hard to go to activities and sit by yourself and be a loner..

I always tell my kids they have to go to their activities even though they dont know anybody so they can get to know people and make friends.. So I guess I better suck it up and follow my own words of wisdom..

Austin and Dallin's Eagle Court of Honor

Well this past weekend we went down to Brigham to have Austins Court of Honor with his cousin Dallin who also earned his Eagle.. It was really cool to be able to go down and share them together and be able to have our family's there to see it.. It was sad in the fact that we couldn't have it back in MI where he had earned it and where all of Austin's leaders and fellow scouts who had helped him earn it were, but we wee happy that we could be here with family..

What was really cool about this ceremony was that we had vetrans of foreign wars there to present the boys with a flag that had been flown from the capital and flown in honor and in behalf of a soldier who had fallen during battle. They gave Austin the name of Zeke Worthington and he faught in many battles and was quite a hero..

They showed and explained what all the folds in the flag represented and then presented the flag to the grandparents to present to the boys.. It was way cool and what was even cooler was that my step dad who had faught in the Viet Nam War was one of the Military Guards there to present the flag to him and participate in the program.. So Awesome!! I hope it will be something Austin will never forget.. He was also so lucky to have his uncle Matt who is also a member of the Air Force present at the court of honor and explain what the qualities of an Eagle scout means and represents and how it also correlates and ties in to being in the military.. It was so cool... One of the best court of honors I have ever been too..

Uncle Matt

He chose me to be the one to pin on his Eagle pin.

Austin was talking on his mentor pin and that his mentor was not able to attend due to him being in MI so he would be sending the pin to him..
Uncle Mike doing the Eagle Charge.

The Vetrans.. My Step Dad is on the end.. Isn't he handsome in his uniform..

The Eagle's Nest.

Showing the boys and explaining what each of the folds in the flag represent.. So cool!!

Grandpa presenting Austin with his flag.. I tear up when I look at this picture.. What an honor it was..

I wish we could have got the Guard saluting the boy's it was really cool..

The Eagle's nest.

Escorting the boy's to the Eagles Nest..
Welcoming the boy's into the Eagle's Nest.

Dallin and his Mom and Dad.  This is Steve's brother. As if you couldnt tell..

The mother's with their sons!
The Grandparents

Austin and Uncle Shane..
Great Grandma and the boy's.. So glad she could be there for this.. It would have been really cool to have had grandpa there too. He was a veteran as well.
Cutting their cake..

Allie, Shane, and Jessie.. Jessie adores my brother.. Always has since she was little.. He would always growl at them to be funny when they were babies and most of them would cry and look away, but not Jessie she just smiled at him and thought he was ok.. Knowing her and her attitude she probably would just growl right back at him..

My mom and Shane..
Me and my brother Shane...

It was a wonderful court of honor and I am so thankful to all that attended.. We even had our good friends from Santaquin, UT show up as a surprise even though they had to leave early to be at their son's (our adopted son we call him) Fiance's endowments session.  It was so cool they could at least be there for part of it..   We have such awesome friends and family!!
