Fresh Start

Wow so much for last years resolution to write more on this thing..  Life has gotten so busy that I pretty much forgot all about blogging.. Well I am going to try and do a quick catch up of what's happened since the last time I posted on here and hope that I can get on here a little more often so I dont have to keep doing such long posts.. LOL

These are slightly out of order but you will get the jist of it...
Austin started 7th grade this year..  I so remember being in 7th grade and how cool I thought I was..

Logan is in 2nd grade this year. My baby is growing up so fast..

Jessica is in 4th grade..

Now comes the out of order part.. I didnt get a picture of Allie's first day of school because she heads off to early morning seminary at 5:40 every morning..  But here was our last summer trip right before school started.. The Measle family invited us to go to their parents cabin up in northern Michigan for the weekend of Labor Day.. It was awesome and so beautiful...

Now back to order.. Austin was so excited this year to make the Grand Blanc middle school football team.. He was pretty proud of that since this is his very first year playing football.

Then came the birthday month... Steve's, Austin's and my birthday are all in November.. I cant even remember mine nor do I have any pictures from it that's how good it was..

He must have been wishing hard..

Austin finally got his head mount of his mountain goat he got to go shoot this fall.. He had an awesome time hunting with his dad despite the cold and rain, and he was actually able to shoot one.

Poor Lucky had an encounter with a skunk and got to experience a tomatoe juice bath.. I think we went through 10 jars trying to get rid of the smell which was unsuccessful... He still smelled like skunk for weeks to follow.. It was not a good night..

 

Then came Christmas.. Our first Christmas in our new home and it was great to have my parents come and spend it with us..

Allie finally got a phone she had been begging for forever.. I mean really 15 and has a phone.. What are these days coming too.. I never had a phone at 15.. I had to see how far I could stretch the phone cord into my bedroom and shut the door to be able to talk to my friends.. And no joke she hit 1000 text in the first 3 days of having it.. Really???  Dont people call and talk any more?

Next came Allie's birthday..  She made out like a bandit..

In February steve had to go to a confrence up North so we decided to make a family trip out of it and spend the weekend testing out Michigan's ski slopes up at shanty creek resorts.. This was the first time skiing for logan and Allie and for Austin too.. He has always snowboarded but was having a difficult time with it so decided to try ski's with much persuasion and ended up really loving it..

Our biggest snow of the winter we got a whole whopping 4 inches but it was really wet like what we used to get living in utah so we took advantage of it and built a big snow fort..

On St. Patty's Day this year 2012 Steve and I decided to run the pot of gold race in Flint.. A couple of his reps were running it so that made it fun.. It was so hot the day of the race.. Michigan was having crazy warm temps.. The race was at 5:30 and it was like 76 when we started.. The heat really zapped it out of me quickly plus we started out running way to fast. By the time the 3rd mile came I was really slowing down.. However I made the full 4 miles running in 35 min 33 secs.. I felt bad because this was Steve's first race and he has been running around an 8 min mile but he decided to slow down and run along with me and he took 6th place in his age category.. Had he gone as fast as he wanted to he probably would have taken 2nd or 3rd and got a trophy.. What a hubby I have..  So I came in 11th in my age category.. Not to impressed with my time but I at least beat my last timed 4 miler by a few seconds..  I just about passedout afterwards though.. I was very light headed and dripping from every spot on my body and ready to throw up..  I decided I just dont do as well in the heat because I have been running 5-6 miles no problems any other day.. Owell we had lots of fun anyways..

Logan had a patriotic concert and I couldn't help posting this picture.. So many of the kids had such a diffrent expression on their face...

And that is my not so quick update on what has happened since last summers posting..  Hopefully I wont wait so long next time and keep this a little more updated...   We are leaving for Florida Thursday for Spring break and I cant wait and then I will be flying to Utah as soon as we get back for a Shelf Reliance Conference and to visit family  I am so excited..  I will post all about it when I get back..
